Sfogliatella
Sfogliatella is a traditional Italian pastry originating from the Campania region, particularly associated with the city of Naples. It is known for its unique shape, resembling a shell, and is made from layers of thin, flaky dough. The pastry is typically filled with a sweet mixture of ricotta cheese, sugar, and candied citrus peel.
There are two main types of Sfogliatella: Sfogliatella Riccia, which has a crispy, layered exterior, and Sfogliatella Frolla, which features a softer, more cookie-like shell. Both varieties are often enjoyed as a dessert or snack, accompanied by coffee or tea.
