Segunda República
The Segunda República was a period in Spanish history that lasted from 1931 to 1939. It began when the monarchy was abolished, leading to the establishment of a democratic government. This era was marked by significant social and political reforms, including the introduction of women's suffrage and land reforms aimed at addressing inequality.
However, the Segunda República faced numerous challenges, including political polarization and economic difficulties. Tensions between various factions, such as the Republicans and Nationalists, ultimately led to the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War in 1936. The conflict ended in 1939 with the victory of the Nationalists, leading to the establishment of a dictatorship under Francisco Franco.
