Second Saudi State
The Second Saudi State refers to the period of Saudi history from 1824 to 1891, following the decline of the first state. It was established by Turki bin Abdullah in the region of Najd and aimed to restore the power of the Al Saud family after their previous defeat. This state focused on consolidating control over various tribes and regions, promoting stability and governance.
During its existence, the Second Saudi State faced internal conflicts and external pressures, particularly from the Ottoman Empire. The state ultimately fell in 1891 due to a power struggle between the Al Saud and the rival Al Rashid family, leading to a period of fragmentation before the eventual establishment of the Third Saudi State.
