Second Italo-Ethiopian War
The Second Italo-Ethiopian War took place from 1935 to 1936, when Italy invaded Ethiopia in an attempt to expand its colonial empire. The conflict began on October 3, 1935, and was marked by the use of modern military technology, including chemical weapons, by the Italian forces.
Ethiopia, under the leadership of Emperor Haile Selassie, fought bravely but was ultimately overwhelmed by the better-equipped Italian army. The war ended with the occupation of Ethiopia by Italy, which lasted until 1941, when Ethiopian and Allied forces liberated the country during World War II.
