Second Hellenic Republic
The Second Hellenic Republic was established in Greece in 1924, following the abolition of the monarchy. It marked a significant shift towards a more democratic government, emphasizing parliamentary democracy and civil rights. The republic faced numerous challenges, including political instability and economic difficulties, which were exacerbated by the global effects of the Great Depression.
During its existence, the Second Hellenic Republic saw various political factions vying for power, leading to frequent changes in government. The republic ultimately ended in 1935 when the monarchy was restored, leading to the establishment of the Second Hellenic Kingdom.
