Scutum-Centaurus Arm
The Scutum-Centaurus Arm is one of the major spiral arms of the Milky Way Galaxy. It is located between the constellations of Scutum and Centaurus, extending outward from the galactic center. This arm is rich in star formation and contains many young, bright stars, as well as clusters and nebulae.
This arm is part of a larger structure known as the Galactic Bar, which influences the distribution of stars and gas in the galaxy. The Scutum-Centaurus Arm is also home to several notable astronomical objects, including the Omega Centauri globular cluster, making it an area of interest for astronomers.
