Scutum
Scutum is a constellation located in the northern sky. Its name means "shield" in Latin, and it was named by the astronomer Johann Bayer in the 17th century. Scutum is relatively small, containing only a few notable stars, but it is recognized for its distinctive shape resembling a shield.
The constellation is home to several interesting celestial objects, including the Messier 11 star cluster, also known as the Wild Duck Cluster. Scutum is best visible during the summer months in the northern hemisphere and is bordered by the constellations Serpens, Hercules, and Aquila.
