Centaurus
Centaurus is a prominent constellation located in the southern sky. It is one of the largest constellations and is best known for containing the bright star Alpha Centauri, which is the closest star system to Earth. The constellation is often depicted as a centaur, a creature from Greek mythology that is half-human and half-horse.
In addition to Alpha Centauri, Centaurus includes several other notable stars and deep-sky objects, such as the Centaurus A galaxy. This constellation is visible in the southern hemisphere and can be seen during the months of March to July, making it a favorite among stargazers and astronomers.
