Scutum-Centaurus
Scutum-Centaurus is a prominent constellation located in the southern sky. It is named after the Latin word for "shield" and represents a shield held by the centaur, a mythological creature that is half-human and half-horse. This constellation is best visible during the months of June to September.
The constellation contains several notable stars, including Alpha Scuti, which is the brightest star in the group. Scutum-Centaurus is also home to the Scutum Star Cluster, a rich cluster of stars that can be observed with binoculars or small telescopes.
