Scipio
Scipio, specifically known as Scipio Africanus, was a prominent Roman general during the Second Punic War (218-201 BC). He is best known for his decisive victory over the Carthaginian general Hannibal at the Battle of Zama in 202 BC, which effectively ended the war and established Rome as a dominant power in the Mediterranean.
Born into a patrician family around 236 BC, Scipio displayed military talent from a young age. He played a crucial role in various campaigns against Carthage, including his early service in Spain.
