Satmar community
The Satmar community is a Hasidic Jewish group that originated in the early 20th century in the town of Satu Mare, located in present-day Romania. Founded by Rabbi Joel Teitelbaum, the community is known for its strict adherence to Jewish law and customs, as well as its emphasis on traditional values and education.
Today, the Satmar community is primarily based in the United States, particularly in Brooklyn, New York, and has a significant presence in other areas. The community is recognized for its charitable organizations, schools, and synagogues, which serve to maintain its cultural and religious practices.
