Rabbi Joel Teitelbaum
Rabbi Joel Teitelbaum (1887-1979) was a prominent Hungarian-born Hasidic rabbi and the founder of the Satmar Hasidic dynasty. He is best known for his strong opposition to Zionism and his advocacy for traditional Jewish values. Teitelbaum led a large community of followers in the United States after World War II, particularly in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
