Santhali language
Santhali is an Austroasiatic language primarily spoken by the Santhal community in India, particularly in the states of Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, and Bihar. It is one of the official languages of Jharkhand and has a rich oral tradition, with many folk songs and stories passed down through generations.
The language uses the Ol Chiki script, which was created by Raghunath Murmu in the 1920s to promote literacy among the Santhal people. Santhali is also recognized in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution, highlighting its cultural significance and the importance of preserving indigenous languages.
