Ol Chiki
Ol Chiki is a writing system created for the Santali language, which is spoken by the Santal people in India, Bangladesh, and Nepal. Developed by Pandit Raghunath Murmu in the 1920s, it was designed to provide a unique script that reflects the phonetic sounds of the language, making it easier for speakers to read and write.
The script consists of 30 letters, each representing a specific sound. Ol Chiki has gained recognition and is used in educational materials, literature, and cultural expressions among the Santal community, helping to preserve their language and heritage.
