Sangam
The term "Sangam" refers to a historical period in ancient Tamil Nadu, India, characterized by the flourishing of Tamil literature and culture. This era, which lasted from around 300 BCE to 300 CE, is known for its poetic works, including the famous Sangam literature, which consists of poems and songs that celebrate love, valor, and nature. The literature was composed by various poets and is divided into three main collections: Ettuthokai, Pattupattu, and Tolkappiyam.
Sangam also signifies the gathering of poets and scholars in ancient Tamil society, where they would share their works and ideas. This collaborative environment fostered creativity and intellectual exchange, leading to the development of a rich cultural heritage.
