Saint Hedwig
Saint Hedwig, born in 1174, was a Polish princess and the Duchess of Silesia. She is known for her deep faith and commitment to helping the poor. After her husband's death, she dedicated her life to religious service and founded several monasteries, including the Cistercian monastery in Breslau.
She is venerated as the patron saint of Silesia and is often depicted wearing a crown and holding a model of a church. Saint Hedwig was canonized by Pope Clement IV in 1267, and her feast day is celebrated on October 16. Her legacy continues to inspire many in their spiritual journeys.
