Saint Cedd
Saint Cedd was an Anglo-Saxon missionary and bishop, known for his role in spreading Christianity in England during the 7th century. He was born around 620 AD and was a member of the Cedd family, which included other notable saints like Saint Chad. Cedd founded several monasteries, including Monkwearmouth and Lastingham, and played a significant part in the conversion of the Kingdom of Northumbria.
Cedd was known for his dedication to education and the establishment of monastic communities. He was a supporter of the Roman Christian traditions and worked to unify different Christian practices in England. Cedd died in 664 AD and was later canonized as a saint, celebrated for his contributions to the early church.
