Sabaean language
The Sabaean language is an ancient South Arabian language that was spoken in the region of Saba, located in present-day Yemen. It belongs to the Semitic branch of the Afro-Asiatic language family and was used primarily from the 9th century BCE until the 6th century CE. The language is known from inscriptions, texts, and other archaeological findings.
Sabaean was written using a unique script, which is a form of the South Arabian script. This language played a significant role in the culture and administration of the Sabaean Kingdom, known for its wealth and trade, particularly in spices and incense.
