Sabaean Language
The Sabaean language is an ancient South Arabian language that was spoken in the region of Saba, located in present-day Yemen. It belongs to the Semitic branch of the Afro-Asiatic language family and was used primarily from the 9th century BCE to the 6th century CE. The language is known from inscriptions, texts, and artifacts found in archaeological sites.
Sabaean was written using a unique script, which is a form of the South Arabian alphabet. This language played a significant role in the culture and administration of the Sabaean Kingdom, known for its trade and wealth, particularly in incense and spices.
