SLV-1
SLV-1, or Satellite Launch Vehicle-1, was India's first experimental satellite launch vehicle developed by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). It was designed to demonstrate the capability to place payloads into low Earth orbit and marked a significant milestone in India's space program.
The SLV-1 was launched on July 18, 1980, from the Sriharikota Range. It successfully placed the Rohini Satellite into orbit, showcasing India's growing expertise in space technology. This achievement laid the groundwork for future advancements in satellite launch vehicles and contributed to the development of more sophisticated missions.
