Sriharikota Range
The Sriharikota Range is a spaceport located on the eastern coast of India, specifically in the state of Andhra Pradesh. It is operated by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and serves as the primary launch site for satellite missions. The range is situated on a narrow strip of land between the Bay of Bengal and the Coromandel Coast, providing a strategic location for launching satellites into various orbits.
Established in the 1970s, the Sriharikota Range has been the site of numerous successful launches, including those of the PSLV (Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle) and GSLV (Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle). The facility includes multiple launch pads, a control center, and various support infrastructure to facilitate satellite deployment and research activities.
