SIDS Prevention
Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is the unexpected death of an infant, often during sleep. To reduce the risk of SIDS, caregivers should place babies on their backs to sleep, use a firm mattress, and keep the crib free of soft bedding, pillows, and toys.
Breastfeeding is encouraged, as it may lower the risk of SIDS. Additionally, maintaining a smoke-free environment and ensuring the baby sleeps in the same room as the parents, but not in the same bed, can further enhance safety. Following these guidelines can help protect infants from SIDS.
