Safe Sleep Practices
Safe sleep practices are essential for reducing the risk of sleep-related incidents in infants. Always place your baby on their back to sleep, whether in a crib, bassinet, or play yard. Use a firm mattress with a fitted sheet, and avoid soft bedding, pillows, or toys in the sleep area to prevent suffocation.
Room-sharing is recommended, where the baby sleeps in the same room as the parents but on a separate sleep surface. Keep the room at a comfortable temperature and avoid overheating. Additionally, breastfeeding and offering a pacifier at nap time can further promote safe sleep for your baby.
