Russian Tortoise
The Russian Tortoise, also known as the Steppe Tortoise, is a small species native to the dry regions of Central Asia. They typically have a domed shell that can reach up to 10 inches in length and are characterized by their yellowish-brown coloration with dark markings. These tortoises are herbivorous, primarily feeding on grasses, leafy greens, and flowers.
Russian Tortoises are popular pets due to their manageable size and relatively easy care requirements. They thrive in warm environments and require access to sunlight or UVB lighting to maintain their health. Proper habitat setup includes a spacious enclosure with hiding spots and a substrate for burrowing.
