Greek Tortoise
The Greek Tortoise, scientifically known as Testudo graeca, is a small to medium-sized tortoise native to the Mediterranean region. They typically have a domed shell with a pattern of yellow and black, which helps them blend into their natural habitat. These tortoises are herbivorous, primarily feeding on grasses, leaves, and flowers.
Greek Tortoises are known for their longevity, often living for over 50 years in captivity. They prefer warm, dry environments and can be found in various habitats, including grasslands and scrublands. Due to habitat loss and illegal pet trade, they are considered vulnerable in the wild.
