Rubaiyat
The "Rubaiyat" is a collection of quatrains, or four-line poems, attributed to the Persian poet Omar Khayyam. Written in the 11th century, it explores themes of love, life, and the nature of existence. The poems often reflect a philosophical outlook, emphasizing the fleeting nature of time and the importance of enjoying the present.
The most famous English translation was done by Edward FitzGerald in the 19th century, which popularized Khayyam's work in the Western world. The "Rubaiyat" has since inspired countless adaptations and interpretations, making it a significant piece of world literature that continues to resonate with readers today.
