Royalist Army
The Royalist Army was a military force that supported the monarchy during the English Civil War, which took place from 1642 to 1651. This army fought against the Parliamentarians, who sought to limit the power of the king. The Royalists were primarily composed of nobles, landowners, and their supporters, who believed in the divine right of kings.
Led by figures such as King Charles I, the Royalist Army aimed to maintain the authority of the monarchy. Despite initial successes, the Royalists ultimately faced defeat, leading to the execution of Charles I and the establishment of the Commonwealth under Oliver Cromwell.
