Rosetta mission
The Rosetta mission was a space exploration project by the European Space Agency (ESA) aimed at studying the comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. Launched in 2004, it traveled over 6 billion kilometers to reach the comet in 2014, becoming the first spacecraft to orbit a comet.
The mission included a lander named Philae, which successfully touched down on the comet's surface in November 2014. Rosetta provided valuable data about the comet's composition, structure, and activity, enhancing our understanding of the early solar system and the role of comets in delivering water and organic materials to Earth.
