Roman Women
Roman women played a significant role in society, although they were often limited by legal restrictions. They could not vote or hold public office, but many managed households and participated in religious activities. Wealthy women had more freedom and could own property, while poorer women often worked alongside their families in various trades.
Despite their limitations, Roman women influenced culture and family life. They were responsible for raising children and instilling values, which shaped future generations. Notable figures, such as Livia Drusilla, the wife of Emperor Augustus, demonstrated that women could wield considerable influence behind the scenes in Roman politics.
