Roger Bushell
Roger Bushell was a British pilot and a key figure in the Second World War. Born in 1910 in South Africa, he joined the Royal Air Force and became known for his leadership skills. Bushell was involved in several missions, but he is most famous for his role in the Great Escape from the Stalag Luft III prisoner-of-war camp in 1944.
During the Great Escape, Bushell was instrumental in planning the escape of over 600 prisoners. Unfortunately, the escape was ultimately unsuccessful, and he was captured again. Roger Bushell was executed by the Gestapo in 1944, but his bravery and determination have made him a symbol of resistance and courage.
