Robert II of Scotland
Robert II of Scotland was the first monarch of the House of Stuart, ruling from 1371 until his death in 1390. He was born on March 2, 1316, and was the son of Walter Stewart, 6th High Steward of Scotland. His ascension to the throne followed the death of his cousin, David II of Scotland, marking the beginning of a new royal lineage.
During his reign, Robert II faced challenges such as internal conflicts and the ongoing threat from the English. He worked to strengthen the Scottish crown and maintain stability in the kingdom, laying the groundwork for future Stuart rulers.
