Richard Nevill, 2nd Earl of Westmorland
Richard Nevill, 2nd Earl of Westmorland (c. 1430–1499), was a prominent English nobleman during the late medieval period. He was a member of the powerful Nevill family and played a significant role in the Wars of the Roses, a series of civil wars for control of the English throne. Richard was known for his loyalty to the Yorkist cause and served as a key supporter of King Edward IV.
In 1464, Richard was appointed as the Lord High Admiral of England, showcasing his influence and status. He was also involved in various military campaigns and held several important positions throughout his life. After the fall of the Yorkist regime, he eventually aligned himself with the Tudors, securing his family's legacy in the changing political landscape of England.
