Richard FitzAlan, 1st Earl of Arundel
Richard FitzAlan, 1st Earl of Arundel (c. 1267–1326), was a prominent English nobleman during the late 13th and early 14th centuries. He was the son of Richard FitzAlan, 8th Earl of Arundel and Eleanor of Lancaster. Richard became the first Earl of Arundel in 1289, inheriting vast estates and playing a significant role in the politics of his time.
As a loyal supporter of King Edward I, FitzAlan participated in military campaigns, including the Welsh Wars. He was also involved in the governance of England, serving as a member of the House of Lords. His legacy continued through his descendants, who remained influential in English history.
