Rapallo Treaty
The Rapallo Treaty was signed on April 16, 1922, between the countries of Germany and Soviet Russia. This agreement aimed to restore diplomatic relations and establish economic cooperation following the disruptions caused by World War I. It allowed both nations to bypass the restrictions imposed by the Treaty of Versailles.
Under the treaty, Germany and Soviet Russia agreed to mutual recognition and cooperation in various fields, including trade and military matters. This pact marked a significant shift in European politics, as it signaled a growing alliance between the two nations, which would influence future geopolitical dynamics in the region.
