Ransom E. Olds
Ransom E. Olds was an American automobile manufacturer and the founder of the Oldsmobile brand. Born on June 3, 1864, in Geneva, Ohio, he played a significant role in the early automotive industry. Olds is best known for developing the first mass-produced car, the Oldsmobile Curved Dash, which began production in 1901.
In 1897, Olds established the Olds Motor Vehicle Company, which later became part of the General Motors family in 1908. His innovative assembly line techniques helped streamline car production, making automobiles more accessible to the public. Olds passed away on August 26, 1950, leaving a lasting legacy in automotive history.
