Rafqa Pietra Choboq Ar-Rayès
Rafqa Pietra Choboq Ar-Rayès, commonly known as Saint Rafqa, was a Lebanese Maronite nun born on June 29, 1832. She is celebrated for her deep spirituality and dedication to God, which led her to join the Lebanese Maronite Order. Throughout her life, she experienced significant suffering, including physical ailments, which she embraced as part of her spiritual journey.
Saint Rafqa is venerated for her miraculous intercessions and is recognized as a patron saint of the sick and those suffering from chronic illnesses. She was canonized by Pope John Paul II on June 1, 2001, and her feast day is celebrated on March 23.
