Quiché People
The Quiché people are an indigenous group primarily located in the highlands of Guatemala. They are one of the largest Maya ethnic groups and speak the Quiché language, which is part of the larger Mayan language family. The Quiché have a rich cultural heritage, including traditional clothing, music, and rituals that reflect their historical roots.
Historically, the Quiché were known for their advanced civilization, which included the creation of the Popol Vuh, a significant Maya text that narrates their mythology and history. Today, many Quiché people continue to practice their ancestral traditions while also engaging in modern society, balancing their cultural identity with contemporary life.
