Queen Maria Amalia of Spain
Queen Maria Amalia of Spain was born on July 12, 1802, in Naples, Italy. She was the daughter of King Ferdinand I of the Two Sicilies and Maria Carolina of Austria. In 1829, she married King Luis I of Spain, becoming the queen consort. Her reign was marked by political instability in Spain, and she played a supportive role in her husband's efforts to govern.
