Queen Maria Amalia of Saxony
Queen Maria Amalia of Saxony was born on December 24, 1724, in Vienna, Austria. She was the daughter of Holy Roman Emperor Francis I and Empress Maria Theresa. In 1738, she married Frederick Augustus II, the Elector of Saxony, and later became the Queen of Poland.
Maria Amalia was known for her cultural contributions and support of the arts. She played a significant role in the development of Dresden as a cultural center. Her reign was marked by her dedication to her family and her efforts to promote education and the arts in her adopted homeland.
