Queen Jeanne III of Navarre
Queen Jeanne III of Navarre was born in 1528 and became the queen regnant of Navarre in 1555. She was the daughter of Henry II of Navarre and Margaret of Angoulême. Jeanne's reign was marked by her efforts to maintain the independence of Navarre during a time of political turmoil in France, particularly due to the French Wars of Religion.
Jeanne III was married to Antoine de Bourbon, which strengthened her ties to the French nobility. Despite her efforts, Navarre faced challenges from both the French crown and internal conflicts. She passed away in 1572, leaving a legacy of resilience in the face of adversity.
