Queen Elena of Italy
Queen Elena of Italy was born on January 22, 1873, in Genoa, Italy. She became the queen consort when she married King Victor Emmanuel III in 1896. Elena was known for her charitable work and dedication to social causes, particularly during World War I.
As queen, Elena played a significant role in promoting national unity and supporting the Italian Red Cross. She was admired for her grace and commitment to her duties. After the monarchy was abolished in 1946, she lived in exile and passed away on November 28, 1952, in Alexandria, Egypt.
