Queen Caroline Matilda
Queen Caroline Matilda was born on July 8, 1751, in London, England. She was the daughter of King George III and Queen Charlotte. In 1766, she married King Christian VII of Denmark and became queen consort. Her marriage was troubled, and she faced challenges in her role due to her husband's mental health issues.
Caroline Matilda became involved in political intrigues during her time in Denmark. She formed a close relationship with Johann Friedrich Struensee, a physician who gained significant influence in the Danish court. Their affair led to a coup against Struensee, resulting in Caroline's exile from Denmark in 1772. She died on May 10, 1775, in Wolfenbüttel, Germany.
