Queen Agnes of Courtenay
Queen Agnes of Courtenay was a notable figure in the medieval period, born around 1180. She was the daughter of Peter II of Courtenay and Agnes of France, and she became the queen consort of Philip II of France through her marriage in 1196. Her union with Philip strengthened political ties between the Courtenay family and the French monarchy.
Agnes played a significant role in the royal court, particularly during her husband's reign. She was the mother of several children, including Louis VIII of France, who later became king. Agnes's lineage and connections contributed to the political landscape of France during the 12th and 13th centuries.
