Pyramiden
Pyramiden is an abandoned Russian settlement located on the archipelago of Svalbard in the Arctic Ocean. Established in 1910, it was primarily a coal mining town and once housed around 1,000 residents. The settlement features Soviet-era architecture and is known for its striking location surrounded by mountains and glaciers.
After the coal mine closed in 1998, Pyramiden was largely deserted, leaving behind a unique ghost town. Today, it serves as a tourist attraction, offering visitors a glimpse into its history and the remnants of Soviet influence in the Arctic region.
