Purpura
Purpura is a medical condition characterized by purple or red spots on the skin, caused by bleeding underneath the skin. These spots, known as purpura, can vary in size and may appear in clusters. The condition can result from various factors, including blood disorders, infections, or certain medications that affect blood clotting.
There are different types of purpura, such as thrombocytopenic purpura, which is linked to low platelet counts, and non-thrombocytopenic purpura, which occurs without a decrease in platelets. Diagnosis typically involves a physical examination and blood tests to determine the underlying cause and appropriate treatment.
