Punjab region
The Punjab region is a fertile area located in South Asia, primarily divided between India and Pakistan. It is known for its rich agricultural land, producing crops like wheat, rice, and sugarcane. The name "Punjab" means "Land of Five Rivers," referring to the five major rivers that flow through the region: the Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi, Beas, and Sutlej.
Historically, Punjab has been a significant cultural and political center, with a diverse population that includes various ethnic and religious groups. The region is also the birthplace of Sikhism, founded by Guru Nanak in the 15th century, and is home to the famous Golden Temple in Amritsar.
