Pu-erh tea
Pu-erh tea is a unique type of fermented tea originating from the Yunnan province of China. It is made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant and undergoes a special aging process, which can last for several years. This tea is known for its rich, earthy flavor and is often enjoyed for its potential health benefits, including aiding digestion and promoting weight loss.
There are two main types of Pu-erh tea: Sheng (raw) and Shou (ripe). Sheng Pu-erh is made from fresh leaves and can be aged to develop its flavor, while Shou Pu-erh is fermented to speed up the aging process. Both types are typically compressed into cakes or bricks for storage and can be brewed multiple times.
