Psidium
Psidium is a genus of tropical fruit-bearing trees and shrubs, commonly known for its species, guava. These plants are native to Central and South America but are now cultivated in many warm regions around the world. They thrive in well-drained soil and require plenty of sunlight to produce their sweet, aromatic fruits.
The most well-known species, Psidium guajava, produces small, round fruits that can be green, yellow, or pink when ripe. Guavas are rich in vitamins, particularly vitamin C, and are enjoyed fresh or used in various culinary applications, including jams, juices, and desserts.
