Princess Marie of Anhalt-Dessau was born on July 24, 1803, in Dessau, Germany. She was a member of the {House of Ascania} and the daughter of {Prince Leopold IV of Anhalt-Dessau} and {Princess Louise of Anhalt-Köthen}. Marie became known for her charitable work and contributions to the arts during her lifetime.
