Princess Louise of Saxe-Meiningen was born on December 3, 1860, in Meiningen, Germany. She was a member of the Saxe-Meiningen royal family and the daughter of Georg II, Duke of Saxe-Meiningen and Princess Feodora of Hohenlohe-Langenburg. In 1884, Louise married Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught and Strathearn, the third son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. The couple had three children and lived in various locations, including Canada and England. Louise was known for her charitable work and support of the arts throughout her life.
